Pathanadu is a locality in Kangazha panchayat, in the higher eastern part of Kottayam district. Kangazha lies roughly 21 km east of Kottayam town and about 10 km north of Karukachal, on the belt that climbs from the backwater plain towards the Western Ghats foothills — so land here sits higher, drains better and costs noticeably less per cent than anything on the Kottayam–Changanassery corridor.
